Hemisfair Civic Park

Centrally situated amongst many public amenities, The Springs at Hemisfair Civic Park are inspired by the natural springs in Texas Hill Country. Dozens of seeps scattered throughout five uniquely designed pools create a tranquil environment where water can shimmer across gentle curves and undulating limestone ramps. A cascading channel connects the north plaza’s modest cascade feature “The Source” with the south side’s pools, tying together this vast public space.

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, the features serve a sustainable purpose. They utilize filtered “nuisance water” collected from beneath the nearby Henry B. González Convention Center. This water, which includes runoff and air conditioning condensation, is treated through sand filtration and UV light before being supplied to the pools.
